First Baptist Church,Corner E. Main St.&Ferguson Avenue.
On the left is the Tri-States Foot Bridge and on the right is the Tri -States Railroad Bridge.When we were kids in Tri-States we used to dive off of both of these bridges. On VJ Day,I was in the middle of the river just below the footbridge turning over rocks to get clippers when the people were hollering and screaming.Fireworks were going off .The war was over.
On the left is Ferguson Avenue looking from East Main Street.On the right is Upper Sussex
Street looking toward Presbyterian Church.Please note the dirt streets.
On the left is Church Street School. Anna S.Kuhl was the principal.On the right is Front Street in later years.J.C.Penney;W.T.Grant and the 5 & 10's were still there along with Rae MaGory;Bob&Betty Shop;Rudolph's Jewelers and Levin Furniture.Al's Army and Navy was also still there.
On the left is Tri State Rock and Tri State Monument.To your left is the Delaware River and to your right is the Neversink River.On the right is the Hawks Nest of early days.Please note dirt road and hand piled stone wall.
This is the YMCA on Pike Street.When we were kids we played a lot of basketball here and shot pool.This building;the Silver Grill;Babyatsky's Bakery;the Farnum Building and Joe Dunn's were located where Royal Furniture and Millenium Park are now. They all became victims of urban renewal.
