Port Jervis, New York
Scenes from the good old days
On the left is one of the old High Schools of the past.Is this Church St.School or is it Sullivan Avenue School,or,is it neither? What do you think ?Send me an EMail. On the back of the card,it says that the space on the back can be used for correspondence after March 1, 1907.On the right is Laurel Grove Cemetery. How about those nice bushes there?
These are two pictures of the old days in Orange Square.Building to the left of the monument and the old fountain is the Baptist Church of the time. The building to the right of each was the old Rockland Light and Power  office and Alitons Drug Store.Do you see a trolley car?
Two views of Park Avenue. The one on the left is a little more recent than the one on the right which was taken by Gus Krauss. Please note the lightposts in the one on the right. These are the ones that our new street lights resemble.
On the left is a view of Pike Street looking South from Orange Square. On the right is a view of
Port Jervis looking down from Point Peter.Note that Erie Round House and car shops are in
there and also that underpass had not been built yet.You can see tall red brick building where Mason's Drug Store was at the time.

On the left is St.Francis Hospital and the Nurse's Home next door.On the right is the Overlook that used to be up on Route 6.This was built on the side of the mountain and the rear of the building was supported by a framework of railroad ties that looked like building was on stilts.Pictures taken by Gus Krauss.
